How do you get to Peanut Island?

Peanut Island is located an 80 acre island located in beautiful Palm Beach County. This is one of the best beaches in South Florida. There are multiple ways to get to the island. You can rent a kayak from Nautical Ventures and kayak to the island or you can take a ferry.

Peanut Island Ferry

The ferry runs daily every 25 minutes from 10am to 5pm. The last boat trip to the island is 3pm and the last shuttle back to shore is at 5pm. An adult round trip ticket costs $16 and a children’s ticket is $8. The wait can be super long during the weekends, I would suggest going 2-3 hours before high tide on a weekday to avoid the lines. You can find the tide chart here.

Can you swim at Peanut Island?

Yes, and it’s probably one of the best swimming areas in all of South Florida. The water is crystal clear, which makes for great visibility for snorkeling. It is one of the best beaches for kids because the water is calm, clear and shallow.

Camping on the Island

To reserve a campsite on Peanut Island click here. There are a total of 17 campsites, which include a grill, picnic table and a tent pad. The campsites do NOT have electricity. You can have up to two pets per campsite, but they must be kept on a leash at all times. Peanut Island Campground has a lot of rules and regulations so please visit the link above.
