Hello! Welcome to the finest beaches Florida has to offer blog. This first post is going to be about favorite family friendly beach in South Florida, specifically in Palm Beach County.

The best beach for kids in South Florida is:

  1. Phil Foster Park in Riviera Beach, Florida

#1 Phil Foster Park

Phil Foster Park is located at 900 Blue Heron Blvd, Riviera Beach, FL 33404. This is hands down one of my ABSOLUTE favorite beaches in Florida, but ONLY during high tide. This hidden gem of a beach is tucked under the Jerry Thomas Memorial Bridge. You can find me here blissing out at the insanely clear water any chance I get. I like to call it a slice of paradise under the Riviera Beach Bridge. It’s only 5 minutes away from my house and it feels like I am in some tropical location like the Bahamas or Mexico.

Before you plan your trip, make sure to check the tide chart, which can be found by visiting this link: Phil Foster Park Tides. It is best to arrive about 1-2 hours before high tide, but be warned, on the weekend, ESPECIALLY if it’s during high tide, the parking lot fills up quickly with scuba divers (believe me I was just there today and it was pretty filled at 10am on a Thursday)!!!! Phil Foster Park is perfect for little ones. I would definitely say this is the best beach for kids in Florida. As a parent, I know how stressful it can be bringing kids to the ocean. The water is calm and crystal clear making it the perfect spot for kids to swim and parents can relax and actually enjoy the water.

Phil Foster Park is one of the best beaches in Florida because it is one of the top places in North America to scuba dive and snorkel. The beach is located at the Lake Worth Lagoon. You can see up to 75+ different species of fish. Keep and eye out for the starfish, seahorses, octopus and purple morays.

TIPS:

  1. Check the tide chart a few days in advance to experience high tide, this is when the beach is at its finest
  2. Arrive 1-2 hours BEFORE high tide and even earlier if it’s the weekend, the parking lot fills up quickly and PBSO will not let people in
  3. Bring your goggles and snorkel!!!!
  4. Make sure to pack some lunch/snacks so you can enjoy the beach for hours
  5. Bring water, floats and of course SUNSCREEN. This is the best sunscreen for kids:
