Yes, you can snorkel at the Blue Heron Bridge in Riviera Beach, Florida. It is one of best snorkeling sites in south Florida. This is one of my favorite beaches to take my young toddlers. The water is shallow and clear so we can see what we are swimming with.
What is the best time to snorkel at Phil Foster Park?
The best time to snorkel at the Blue Heron Bridge is about 1.5 hours before high tide and about 1 hour after. The tide chart can be here. During this time the water is crystal clear allowing for visibility of the vast variety of sea life from starfish, seahorse, octopus, stingrays, and the occasional sea turtles. Please be advised that the currents can be extremely strong, proceed with caution. There is no visibility during low tide. If you are visiting with little ones keep an eye out for jellyfish and sea urchins. Occasionally you will see big, orange starfish like the one below close to shore.
