#1 Phil Foster Park

Phil Foster Park is located at 900 Blue Heron Blvd, Riviera Beach, FL 33404. This is hands down one of my ABSOLUTE favorite beaches in Florida, but ONLY during high tide. This hidden gem of a beach is tucked under the Jerry Thomas Memorial Bridge. You can find me here blissing out at the insanely clear water any chance I get. I like to call it a slice of paradise under the Riviera Beach Bridge. It’s only 5 minutes away from my house and it feels like I am in some tropical location like the Bahamas or Mexico.

Planning Your Trip:

Before you plan your trip, make sure to check the tide chart, which can be found by visiting this link: Phil Foster Park Tides. It is best to arrive about 1-2 hours before high tide, but be warned, on the weekend, ESPECIALLY if it’s during high tide, the parking lot fills up quickly with scuba divers (believe me I was just there today and it was pretty filled at 10am on a Thursday)!!!! Phil Foster Park is perfect for little ones. I would definitely say this is the best beach for kids in Florida. As a parent, I know how stressful it can be bringing kids to the ocean. The water is calm and crystal clear making it the perfect spot for kids to swim and parents can relax and actually enjoy the water, which is why it’s the number one of the 3 best beaches for families in South Florida.

Best Snorkeling Location in North America

Phil Foster Park is one of the 3 best beaches for families in South Florida because it is one of the top places in North America to scuba dive and snorkel. The beach is located at the Lake Worth Lagoon. You can see up to 75+ different species of fish. Keep and eye out for the starfish, seahorses, octopus and purple morays.

#2 DuBois Park

DuBois Park in Jupiter Florida is a great beach for families. This beach is a protected lagoon and has all of the amenities from picnic tables, grills, bathrooms, a playground, and of course a nice sandy beach. When planning your trip to DuBois Park in Jupiter I would suggest checking the tides. The best time to visit this beach is during high tide, which is when the water from the ocean comes in, otherwise it will be low tide with dirtier water. The tides can be found by clicking this link: DuBois Park in Jupiter Tide Chart. As with almost every South Florida Beach, when visiting on the weekend I would suggest arriving super early so that you can get a parking spot. Parking is free and the lot is pretty big, but it does fill up fast.

#3 Lakeside Park

Lakeside Park in North Palm Beach Florida is a hidden gem! This is the perfect family friendly beach in South Florida. Sea grape trees line the sugar sand beach providing lots of shade. If you plan on visiting this beach on the weekend make sure to arrive early, around 10am before the parking lot fills up. There are only about 20 spots and they recently added a North Palm Beach Police officer at the front gate. They will not let you in if there are no available spots. This is one of the best beaches in Florida for families. There are minimal waves except when large boats pass by as it does sit on the inter-coastal. The water is shallow, which is perfect for kids. It’s important to note there are no bathrooms or showers to wash off. I take my girls here almost weekly and I have learned to fill up one of the beach buckets full of water and wash our feet once we get back to our car. These are the beach buckets I use below:
